George Slauson has been named the 2026 Futures League Most Valuable Player! The Bees’ first baseman that’s heading to UConn by way of St. Anselm had one of the best seasons at the plate in franchise history, hitting .340 and setting the new FCBL-team record in doubles. He drove in 37 runs in 41 games and becomes the first league MVP in New Britain history.

Slauson stuffed the stat sheet throughout his second summer with the Bees, hitting .340 with a .922 OPS, 13 doubles, one home run, 37 RBI and 25 runs scored in 41 regular-season games. He drew an incredible 33 walks and struck out only 11 times to accumulate a .471 on-base percentage. The slugging first baseman was the Futures League leader in doubles, RBI and walks, while tying for second in total bases (65). Slauson posted 13 multi-hit games and eight multi-RBI games, including a five-RBI performance in the final week of the regular season. He also hit .286 with two RBI and five runs scored in six postseason games. Slauson was named Northeast 10 Conference Player of the Year at Saint Anselm in the spring and has transferred to UConn ahead of his junior season.
