Garret Garbinski has been named the 2026 Futures League Pitcher of the Year! The Bees’ right hander out of UConn had one of the best seasons on the hill in franchise history, registering a 1.37 ERA and having five starts of at least seven innings pitched. Garbinski pitched seven dazzling innings in the deciding third game of the FCBL Championship Series in Vermont to help lead New Britain to the title.

Below is the release from the Futures League from the league website:

After claiming Futures League Top Pro Prospect honors in 2025, Garbinski returned to New Britain and turned in a summer worthy of the franchise’s first-ever Pitcher of the Year nod. He posted a 4-0 record with a 1.37 ERA and 33 strikeouts through 46 innings during the regular season, leading the league’s primary starters in both wins and ERA. Garbinski worked seven innings in five of his eight starts, did not allow an earned run on five occasions, pitched completely scoreless ball three times and walked no more than two in any outing. Counting a dominant effort in the deciding championship game on August 16 at Vermont, he threw seven shutout innings in two of his final three outings.
