The Bees: All 4 of New Britain’s runs yesterday afternoon came in one inning. 9 batters came to the plate in the bottom of the 4th inning, with 4 of them coming across. With the bases loaded, Conor Bierfeldt hit an RBI single to score the first run, and Jordan Hinshaw followed by drawing a walk to score the second. Finally, Jamar Walton plated the last two runs with an RBI double, which gave New Britain a 4-2 lead at the time.

The Opposition: Lancaster scored first in yesterday’s game, and they were also the last to score. Sean Halton notched an RBI single in the 1st for their first run, and Garrett Weber would hit one of his own in the 2nd to add on to the lead. After New Britain took the 4-2 lead in the 4th, the Barnstormers answered with 2 more runs in the 6th, 3 in the 8th, and one more in the 9th. Nate Coronado and Lastings Milledge both homered to secure the win for Lancaster.

Starting Pitchers – New Britain: RHP Kyle Simon (6-7, 4.27) | Lancaster: LHP Jarret Leverett (6-5, 5.21)

Key to the Game – Simon shutdown: Kyle Simon comes into this start after throwing back to back complete games, the first against Southern Maryland followed by another in Somerset. Since his last start against Lancaster on June 28th, his ERA and opponent batting averages have both dropped, even after facing the stacked offenses of Bridgeport and Somerset twice. Look for the Bees to follow the momentum that Simon has generated through his last 4 starts, giving him a lead to work with and keeping the bullpen rested.

Broadcast: The Bees’ Official YouTube Channel (youtube.com/newbritainbees) and Facebook Live (facebook.com/newbritainbees), starting at 6:20 P.M.

Song of the Day: David Cook - 4 Letter Word
