(New Britain, Conn., May 25, 2018) – The New Britain Bees today announced the signing of pitcher Tyler Badamo.
“Tyler will be a nice addition to this team,” says Bees General Manager Brad Smith. “He has proven himself in this league and was also one of the success stories last season, getting picked up by an affiliated club.”
Tyler Badamo comes to New Britain for his fifth season of professional baseball and second in the Atlantic League after beginning 2018 with the Sugar Land Skeeters. Last year, the pitcher began the campaign with the Bridgeport Bluefish, starting 11 games and posting a 4-3 record with a 2.63 ERA and 39 strikeouts in 61.2 innings of work. After this successful Atlantic League debut, he had his contract purchased by the Arizona Diamondbacks and spent the rest of the season in their organization, reaching as high at the Triple-A level.
The 25-year-old made his professional debut in 2014 after being drafted by the New York Mets in the 24th round of the 2014 MLB draft.
In 64 career minor league appearances (58 starts), Tyler owns 17 wins with a 3.74 ERA and 237 strikeouts in 337.1 innings of work.
