BEES OPEN THREE-GAME ROAD SERIES WITH DUCKS

In 140 Characters or Less: After last night's postponement, the Bees and Ducks finally begin their three-game series tonight! First pitch 11:05AM!

Series: Entering the start of this series, the Ducks hold a 6-4 edge in the season series, with the Long Island winning each of the last three games. After this morning's opening game, the series will wrap up tomorrow night with a doubleheader, with game one set to start at 6:35PM.

The Bees: The Bees are coming off a road series against Bridgeport where they dropped two of three, though the one win came in dramatic fashion thanks to Greg Golson’s two-run triple in he 11th inning on Saturday night. The team is off to a 6-11 start to the second half, and is 42-45 overall.

The Opposition: The Ducks are also coming off a series in which they dropped two of three games on the road, with their series loss coming at Southern Maryland. Overall, Long Island- which won the first half Liberty Division title- is 50-35 on the season, and 10-5 in the second half.

Key to the Game: Fresh ‘pen- Thanks to Sean Gleason’s complete game Sunday afternoon against Bridgeport and last night's rain out, the Bees bullpen was able to get two days of much needed rest. With the Bees using only three relievers in Saturday night's extra inning win, manager Stan Cliburn will have several fresh options available should he need to turn to the bullpen.

Bees Buzz: In Shawn Haviland’s last start against Long island, the native of Middletown tossed 6.2 innings and allowed just one run while striking out five in the Bees’ 3-1 loss on June 16…James Skelton has reached base in 21 straight games, the third longest streak by a Bees this season (Greg Golson 23, Craig Maddox 22)…Jonathan Roof is hitting .333 (6-18) with a home run, three RBIs, and six runs scored over his last five games…
