Martinez Named To All-FCBL First Team(New Britain, Conn., September 9th, 2020) – Following the milestone 10th season of Futures Collegiate Baseball League (FCBL) action throughout New England, the top players from all six teams were recognized on the 2020 All-FCBL Teams as announced on Tuesday. Commissioner Joe Paolucci unveiled the All-FCBL First and Second Teams. Both squads include a position player at each position on the field, a designated hitter, two utility players and a four- or five-man pitching staff. Bees First Baseman/Designated Hitter Noah Martinez (Central Connecticut State) was honored on the First Team, and deservedly so. The Connecticut native was a staple in the middle of New Britain’s order during its first season in the FCBL, hitting .323 with five doubles, four homers, 22 RBI and 18 runs scored. Martinez also led the league with a .496 on-base percentage and 29 walks. He recorded nine multi-hit games, seven multi-RBI games and broke out his power stroke later in the season. Off the field Martinez was a constant for a smile, and a positive attitude in the face of adversity. Bees General Manager Brad Smith saying “With the always changing nature of this Summer, to be able to put up those extraordinary numbers, and to do it in front of fans, as one of the only teams in the nation with fans in the stands, it speaks to the kind of young man Noah is. We wish him nothing but the best always.” About the New Britain Bees The New Britain Bees are members of the Futures Collegiate Baseball League and play their home games at New Britain Stadium.
