Herrmann Named Assistant General Manager

(New Britain, Conn., October 4, 2017) – The New Britain Bees today announced that Paul Herrmann has been named Assistant General Manager of the Atlantic League club. Herrmann previously served as General Manager of the Bridgeport Bluefish.

"Paul did a tremendous job in leading the Bridgeport Bluefish in their 20th season,” says Bees General Manager Brad Smith. “His ties to the greater Bridgeport and Southern Connecticut communities will be an extremely valuable asset for the New Britain Bees moving forward."

Herrmann, 32, is a native of Center Moriches, New York and currently resides in Middletown, Connecticut. He joined the Bridgeport Bluefish front office in November of 2008, when he was hired as a Media Relations Coordinator. Paul spent nine seasons with the Bluefish, working his way up to the General Manager position this past year. He also worked in a variety of roles with the ‘Fish, overseeing the Media Relations, Baseball Operations, Marketing, and Sponsorship Sales departments. Prior to joining the Bluefish, Paul functioned as the Media Relations Assistant for the Long Island Ducks where he actively worked with local media, while also writing press releases and maintaining team statistics. He has also spent time working with the New York Jets and New York Knicks. Herrmann graduated from Rutgers University in 2007 and spent two years in the Athletic Communications department during his time there.

“I’m very excited and honored to assume the Assistant General Manager position with the New Britain Bees,” says Herrmann. “New Britain has such a deep history of professional baseball with a tremendous fan base. Brad, myself, and the rest of the Bees organization look forward to sharing this passion for the game with the fans of New Britain, while bringing Central Connecticut our brand of affordable family entertainment.”
