2016 STANLEY TAPE MEASURE CHALLENGE RAISES $5,400 FOR CCARC, Inc.

54 HOME RUNS HIT BY THE BEES AT NEW BRITAIN STADIUM DURING INAUGURAL SEASON

(New Britain, Conn., November 10, 2016)–New Britain Bees management and Stanley Black & Decker today announced that the 2016 Stanley Tape Measure Challenge has raised $5,400 for CCARC, Inc., located in New Britain.

CCARC, Inc.’s mission is to “make dreams happen” with a vision to “provide personalized services for people with disabilities.” Since its founding in 1952, CCARC, Inc. has grown to offer a wide variety of residential and day services in the Central Connecticut community to support people with disabilities.

The Stanley Tape Measure Challenge donates $100 for each home run hit by the Bees this season at New Britain Stadium. New Britain tallied 54 home runs at New Britain Stadium in 2016, beginning with Anthony Hewitt’s first home run of the season on April 24 (and the first home run by the Bees in franchise history) and ending with Nick Murphy’s first professional home run on September 18th vs. Somerset. Of the 54 home runs hit at home, Jovan Rosa, Jon Griffin and Michael Crouse each tallied 7, while Jon Jones had the lone Bees grand slam at New Britain Stadium during 2016 on June 17th.

Tim Perra, VP of Corporate Communications for Stanley Black & Decker, said “Our Company’s World Headquarters and home is here in New Britain. We are proud of the Tape Measure Challenge and all of our other local partnerships that continue to benefit our community. We want to congratulate the New Britain Bees on their performance this season, and we are pleased that this can help benefit CCARC and the great work that they do.”
