During game two of the doubleheader, it will be Winning Inning Wednesday where fans will have the chance to win $10,000 if a designated occurrence happens during a specified inning. It will also be Little League Night during the game.

The Bees: In two starts in the month of July, Harvard grad (and Middletown native) Shawn Haviland has pitched to a 2.08 ERA (three earned runs in 13 innings) with 11 strikeouts. His last start came on July 6 at Sugar Land, allowing two runs over six innings.

The Opposition: With a 4-5 night in last night’s game vs. the Bees, Jeff Kobernus is hitting .357 (10-28) with four runs scored in seven games. Five of the Barnstormers who have played at least seven games against the Bees are hitting at least .300.

Game 1: New Britain- RHP Shawn Haviland (2-3, 3.43) | Lancaster- Anthony Fernandez (0-0, 0.00)
Game 2: New Britain- LHP Anthony Marzi (1-0, 2.92) | Lancaster- Tanner Peters (4-3, 3.81)

Key to the Games: Arms race- With the Bees using three relievers out of the bullpen last night, the team will need to get length out of both starting pitchers today. While this is Marzi’s first start of the season, Haviland has averaged 6.6 innings per start over his last three starts, which would come in handy during the seven-inning game one.

Song of the Day: “Are You Ready for the Summer?”

Bees Buzz: While game two starter Anthony Marzi will make his first ever start for the Bees, starting pitcher is a role he is familiar with as he was one of the best starters in UConn history (ranks in the top four in school history in innings and strikeouts)…Craig Maddox is working on a seven-game hitting streak…14 of Anthony Marzi’s 19 appearances have been scoreless…
