New Britain Bees Announce Streaming Info(New Britain, CT) – The New Britain Bees have enhanced their video productions for the 2022 Future’s Collegiate Baseball League (FCBL) season. Home games will be available to stream for free on WFSB+ to in-market viewers. All games will be available to stream for purchase on the FCBL Network (www.fcblnetwork.com) to out-of-market viewers. Additionally, a free audio stream of home games will be available anywhere through Mixlr.
Through an exclusive partnership with WFSB, the New Britain Bees will offer a multicamera production that in-market viewers can watch for free on WFSB+, which is available on AndroidTV, Roku, Apple TV, FireTV, and the WFSB app. All home and road games will be available to stream for a fee on www.FCBLNetwork.com.
“We are excited to partner with a well-respected powerhouse in Connecticut media to expand our reach in showcasing New Britain Bees Baseball,” said Bret DeRosa, General Manager. “WFSB is a staple in our community and is known for showcasing all our state has to offer, and we are so happy that will now include expanded coverage of the quality of Future’s League Baseball on the field and the fun fan experience in the stands at New Britain Stadium.”
“WFSB is proud to partner with the New Britain Bees,” said WFSB Executive News Director Keith Connors. “It’s a great way for viewers to see the next generation of baseball on our next generation streaming platform! WFSB+ offers hundreds of hours of free streaming news, sports, and entertainment on Roku, Amazon Fire, Apple TV, and Android TV.”
Randy Brochu will serve as the play-by-play “Voice of the Bees” on the broadcasts. A native of New Britain, Brochu is a familiar voice in Connecticut sports as a play-by-play announcer for UConn, Sacred Heart University, and the Northeast Conference. He also has called baseball at the minor league and collegiate levels coast-to-coast, from Norwich, CT to Yakima, WA.
Brochu will be joined by a team of college student broadcasters and producers, who will make up the multicamera production team. Students from Sacred Heart University, Central Connecticut State University, West Virginia University, Post University, Ithaca College, and the University of Connecticut will produce the live streams and social media content. Much as college baseball players hone their skills on the field in the Future’s League, university student multimedia team members will also deliver quality entertainment while gaining valuable hands-on experience in sports media and live production.
“I am thrilled to spend a summer working with a group of talented and motivated young professionals delivering New Britain Bees and Futures League Baseball to our fans here in my hometown,” said Brochu. “Some of my greatest Baseball memories are from summer nights right here at Willow Brook Park, and I look forward to seeing this group grow and develop professionally while making more great memories with Bees fans and everyone involved.”
The Bees open the 2022 season Thursday, May 26 at 10:35 am vs. the Norwich Sea Unicorns. They host their first night game Friday, May 27 at 6:35 pm vs. the Brockton Rox. |
