Series: The Bees took game 1 of the three game weekend series with a 3-1 victory last night. Jon Griffin hit his 13th home run of the season in the top of the second inning, giving the Bees an early 2-0 lead. Michael Crouse would add an insurance run in the top of the 7th, when he belted his 20th home run of the season.
The Bees: The Bees took game one of the series last night, defeating the Blue Crabs by a final score of 3-1. Last night’s victory included Jon Griffin’s 13th home run the year, Michael Crouse’s 20th homer of the season, and Crouse’s 40th stolen base of the 2017 season. Last night’s game also had a display of history as James Skelton drew his 101st walk of the season, tying Bobby Hill’s Atlantic League record for most walks in a season.
The Opposition: The Southern Maryland Blue Crabs will turn to RHP Brian Grening as they look to snap their 4 game losing streak. Grening last pitched on September 9th, picking up the victory as the Blue Crabs defeated the Lancaster Barnstormers by a score of 10-7. The Blue Crabs will look to pick up some momentum this series, before heading into the playoffs next week.
