BEES BEGIN FINAL SERIES OF 2017 AS THEY TAKE ON THE BLUE CRABS

Series: The Bees and Blue Crabs will start their final series of the 2017 regular season tonight at 6:35 P.M. The series will be a three game weekend series with game 2 coming on Saturday night at 6:35 P.M. and the series finale taking place on Sunday afternoon at 2:05 P.M.
 
The Bees: The Bees were able to take 2 of 3 games from the Somerset Patriots this week, capping off the series with a 5-2 victory last night. The Bees slugged 6 home runs in the 3 game set with Conor Bierfeldt hitting 3 home runs in as many games. The Bees also outscored the Patriots 15-10 throughout the series. 
 
The Opposition: The Blue Crabs will look to snap their 3 game losing streak after being swept by the York Revolution. They will send RHP Brian Grening to the mound tonight, after picking up the win in his last start on September 9th. This will be the final home series of the regular season for the Blue Crabs, before starting the playoffs, after winning the first half Freedom Division crown.  
 
Starting Pitchers – New Britain: RHP Nate Roe (6-6, 3.80) | Somerset: RHP Brian Grening (9-7, 3.88)
 
Key to the Game- Success against Grening: In his last out against the Bees on August 15th, Brian Grening lasted only 4 innings, giving up 7 runs on 9 hits. The Bees hit a total of 4 home runs in that game, as they defeated the Blue Crabs by a final score of 11-0. Look for the Bees to continue their success against Grening and jump out to an early lead.
