Series: New Britain and Bridgeport will square off for the final time in the 2017 season with a 3 game series at the Ballpark at Harbor Yard. All games have a scheduled 7:12 P.M. start time. The Bees won game 1 by a score of 4-2. In game 2 last night, Bridgeport evened the series with a 4-1 victory. The final game of the series, as well as the last game ever between Bridgeport and New Britain, will be tonight.

The Bees: Casey Coleman made his first start for the Bees since April 27th in last night’s game, and his third overall start in a New Britain uniform. He struck out 5 batters, which is an Atlantic League high for him in that category. New Britain’s lone run came in the top of the 2nd inning off the bat of Jake McGuiggan, who brought home Jamar Walton with a single. That hit was McGuiggan’s 100th hit of his career.

 

The Opposition: Bridgeport evened the series last night behind notable performances on the mound, both by starting pitcher Reinier Roibal and the Bluefish bullpen. New Britain was held to just 4 hits in the contest, and only 1 of them was given up by the bullpen in their 3 innings of work. Luis Hernandez scored on a passed ball in the bottom of the 1st, and Jonathan Galvez hit a sacrifice fly in the 4th for their second run. Their final 2 runs came in the 6th thanks to an RBI single by Ozney Guillen.
