PROMOTIONS: Gates open at 12:00 P.M. today! SportsCenter anchor Linda Cohn will be making an appearance at New Britain Stadium to throw out the first pitch! The pitch will be broadcasted LIVE on ESPN beginning at 12:55 P.M.! Every Sunday home game is Schaller Hardware City Family Fun-Day. Fans can get autographs from their favorite Bees players before the game, and kids can run the bases after the game!
The Bees: New Britain hit 2 home runs in yesterday’s game, the first one being a 3 run shot by Craig Maddox in the bottom of the 3rd inning, and the other a solo shot by Jon Griffin in the bottom of the 6th. Michael Crouse gave the Bees their other 2 runs in the bottom of the 2nd with a 2 run double. Crouse ended the night 2-3 with 2 doubles. Out of the bullpen, Nate Roe tossed 1 1/3 innings of scoreless, hitless relief.
The Opposition: York had 14 hits in yesterday’s game, however only one of them was for extra bases; a double by Alonzo Harris. Alexi Casilla and Michael Burgess each ended the night with 3 hits, and Burgess drove in 3 runs. The Revolution didn’t score more than 1 run in an inning until the final at bat of the top of the 9th, when Michael Burgess drove in 2 runs with a single but was thrown out trying to stretch it into a double to end the game.
Starting Pitchers – New Britain: RHP Brian Dupra (3-7, 6.11) | York: RHP Jay Gause (5-1, 2.01)
Key to the Game – Dominant Dupra: New Britain starter Brian Dupra has made 2 starts against York this season. He is 1-0 with a 4.00 ERA, giving up 4 earned runs across 9 total innings. Revolution hitters are batting .188 against him this season. Of the 38 batters he’s faced, only 4 of them have struck out, so a lot of contact has been made. Look for Dupra and the Bees defense to take complete control of today’s game, with Dupra keeping that batting average against him low and the defense to be ready when York hitters make contact.
Broadcast: Today will feature a SPECIAL IN-STADIUM BROADCAST on the Bees’ Official YouTube Channel (youtube.com/NewBritainBees) and Facebook Live (facebook.com/newbritainbees), starting at 12:30 P.M.
