The Bees: New Britain entered the All-Star break with a 3-3 record, having won a series at home against Somerset and then losing a series in Bridgeport against the Bluefish before the break began. In the All-Star game, Jovan Rosa hit a 2 run home run in the first inning to score 2 of the 3 Liberty Division runs. They return to action with this 3 game series against the Blue Crabs, and then will head on the road for a 7 day, 7 game road trip.

The Opposition: Southern Maryland has also played 6 games in the second half before the All-Star break began, going 4-2 overall. They took series wins against Sugar Land and against Long Island, both of them at home. The Freedom Division scored 4 runs in the 4th inning of the All-Star game, all of which were knocked in by Southern Maryland players. Zach Wilson hit a 3 run home run, and Cory Vaughn notched an RBI single.

Starting Pitchers – New Britain: LHP Nick Greenwood (0-2, 6.40) | Southern Maryland: LHP Pat McCoy (2-4, 4.03)

Key to the Game – Leadoff action: In his 51 1/3 innings pitched this season, opposing hitters that lead off innings are batting .294 against McCoy. 85 batters have registered an at bat against him whenever there was at least 1 runner on base, so McCoy is no stranger to getting out of jams. Look for the Bees to generate early action on offense against McCoy, being extra aggressive on the base paths to make him uncomfortable and bringing those runners home to provide run support for Greenwood.

Broadcast: The Bees’ Official YouTube Channel (youtube.com/newbritainbees) and Facebook Live (facebook.com/newbritainbees), starting at 6:20 P.M.

Song of the Day: Tom Petty - Big Weekend
