The Bees: The Bees return home for the first time since September 4 following a nine-game road trip in which they went 5-4. New Britain enters the final series of the regular season just one game behind Sugar Land for the top spot in the wild card and four games behind Somerset in the second half Liberty Division standings. The Opposition: Somerset began its final road trip of the season by dropping two of three games to Bridgeport, though the Patriots still hold a three game lead on the Bluefish in the Liberty Division (and four games on the Bees). The Patriots are 37-29 in the second half and 75-61 overall.
Starters Key to the Game: Lee The Way— With the Bees fighting for their playoffs lives entering the final series of the season, the team needs to start the series off on the right foot. Enter Mike Lee, who has been the Bees’ best starting pitcher for much of the past month. The right-hander owns a 4-0 record and 1.42 ERA over his last five starts dating back to August 18th, and will look to keep the Bees in the playoff hunt with another strong start tonight.
