Bees Home Tickets: BUY HERE | Available at the New Britain Stadium Box Office | Call 860-826-BEES The Bees: Entering tonight’s gam against the Blue Crabs, the Bees sit just one game behind the Sugar Land Skeeters in the race for the wild card. New Britain is also just three games in back of the Somerset Patriots (who the Bees play starting Thursday night) for second half Liberty Division lead. The Opposition: Gary Brown’s bat has been red-hot for the Blue Crabs over the last five games. The former first round draft pick of the San Francisco Giants in 2010 is hitting .476 (10-21) with five RBIs and seven runs scored during that stretch.
Starters Key to the Game: Dealin’ Dylan— In his first start with the Bees after spending the majority of 2016 pithing for Sioux Falls in the American Association, Dylan Thompson held Somerset scoreless through five innings, allowing just two hits and striking out three. If the right-hander, who posted a 3.31 ERA in 22 games while with Sioux Falls, is able to replicate his success in his second start for the Bees, the Bees will stand a great chance at picking up a series win. Bees Buzz: Michael Crouse is one stolen base away from 60 on the season and 200 for his professional career…Craig Maddox is hitting exactly .400 (14-35) over his last ten games played with three RBIs and four runs scored…Closer Shawn Gilblair has been a force at the back of the Bees’ bullpen at just the right time for the Bees, holding opponents scoreless in each of his last 11 appearances…
