BEES CONTINUE PLAYOFF PUSH, SEEK SWEEP OF BARNSTORMERS

Series: The Bees took the lead in the season series against the Barnstormers 10-9 with a 3-1 win last night in the middle game of this three-game series.

The Bees: Over his last four games against Lancaster, Bees’ catcher James Skelton is hitting a strong .438 (7-16) with a pair of runs scored and a double.

The Opposition: Joe Gardner, tonight’s starting pitcher for the Barnstormers, have pitched well over his first three starts with the team. The right-hander has allowed six earned runs in 18 innings, and has tossed seven innings in each of his last two outings.

Key to the Game: Push to the playoffs— Having won 12 out of the last 15 games, the Bees find themselves just half a game out of a playoff spot via the wild card. Completing the sweep of the Barnstormers with a win tonight would provide a big boost for the Bees before traveling to Somerset to take on the Liberty Division-leading Patriots.
