BEES AND DUCKS WRAP UP SERIES WITH DOUBLEHEADER

In 140 Characters or Less: The Bees and Ducks wrap up their regular season series tonight with a doubleheader! Game one begins at 6:35PM!

Series: The Bees earned at least a split in the season series when they won their tenth game of the season against the Ducks last night by a 3-1 score.

Promotions: Tonight is a Social Media Saturday! The hottest ticket in town just got hotter thanks to you. Be the star of the show all night long and tag your ballpark selfies with the hashtag “#ItsBetterWithTheBees” — winners will be picked, re-posted on official team social media accounts, and rewarded with a signed baseball from that game's starting pitcher! It is also Back to School Night! Celebrate the start of the school year with the Bees! It will also be Martin Rosol’s Night where the first 500 fans through the New Britain Stadium gates will receive a water bottle courtesy of Martin Rosol's! The Bees will also be celebrating Latin American Heritage Night!

The Bees: Cole Garner has certainly made a big impact for the Bees in games against the Ducks since joining the Bees in early August. In five games against Long Island, the former big league outfielder has hit .412 (7-17) with two doubles, a home run (which came last night), three RBIs and five runs scored. The Bees’ record with Garner against the Ducks is 5-0.

The Opposition: With two hits in last night’s game, Delta Cleary Jr. raised his average against the Bees this season to .358 (19-53) and has recorded two or more hits in seven of the 14 games he has played in against New Britain.

Starters
Game 1: New Britain- RHP Mike Lee (2-0, 3.07) | Long Island- RHP John Brownell (9-6, 3.21)
Game 2: New Britain- Daniel Sattler (2-3, 4.39)  | Long Island- LHP Daniel Herrera (1-1, 7.96)

Key to the Games: Don’t change the recipe—The last time the Bees sent Mike Lee and Daniel Sattler to the mound to face the Ducks, both pitchers spun some of their best starts as members of the Bees. Both right-handers pitched six innings and surrendered no runs during the August 15-18 series at New Britain Stadium, and the Bees hope both can recreate their successful starts in both ends of tonight’s doubleheader.

Broadcast: YouTube (youtube.com/NewBritainBees). The game can also be heard on these radio stations, WDRC AM 1360 (Hartford), WMMW AM 1470 (Meriden), WWCO AM 1240 (Waterbury), and WSNG AM 610 (Torrington). Bees fans can also listen live by visiting www.talkofconnecticut.com.
