BEES RETURN TO NEW BRITAIN TONIGHT TO TAKE ON SKEETERSIn 140 Characters or Less: The Bees return to New Britain to take on the Sugar Land Skeeters tonight! First pitch 6:35PM! Series: New Britain leads the season series with the Skeeters 7-6, though Sugar Land took two of three in the most recent series between the teams in early July. The Bees: The Bees return home after a brief four-game road trip in which they dropped three of four games to the York Revolution. The Bees begin this seven-game homestand with a 12-22 record in the second half and 48-56 record overall. The Opposition: Sugar Land enters tonight’s game with the best second half record in the Atlantic League at 21-13. Most recently, the Skeeters swept a three-game series against the Bridgeport Bluefish.
Starters Key to the Game: Quality Control- Kyle Simon will look to continue the Bees’ string of quality starts against the Skeeters. Bees’ pitchers have tossed quality starts (six innings, three earned runs or less) in each of the last three games against Sugar Land, and the Bees will have to pitch well considering the Skeeters rank third in the league in home runs with 84.
