BEES TAKE ON BARNSTORMERS IN SERIES OPENER

Series: The Bees and Barnstormers have split the first 14 games of their season series thus far at seven apiece. The two teams split their most recent series at New Britain Stadium in late July.

Promotions: Today is Foul Pole Friday! If a designated Bees player hits a home run off of one of the foul poles during a Friday home game, one lucky fan will win $50,000! It will also be our fifth Postgame Pyrotechnics show of the season and Community Foundation of Greater New Britain New Britain Night. The Bees: The Bees are 3-4 on their current ten game homestand, splitting a four-game series with Southern Maryland and dropping two of three to York. New Britain is 46-51 overall and 10-17 in the second half.

The Opposition: Lancaster is the midst of a ten game road trip and has won four of the first seven games (two of four at York, two of three at Southern Maryland). The Barnstormers have the same overall record as the Bees (46-51) entering this series.

Key to the Game: You raise me up- The Bees will look to Jon Griffin to continue to put up strong numbers against Barnstormers’ pitchers. The first baseman has picked up a hit in nine straight contests against Lancaster and has driven in a team leading 12 runs against them this season, and is hitting .388 (19-49) in 13 games overall.
