De Aza And Galvez Combine To Tally Five Hits
(York, PA – June 30, 2019) – The York Revolution (30-34) defeated the New Britain Bees (32-30) 15-1 at PEOPLEsBank Park on Sunday afternoon to complete a three-game weekend series sweep that saw the Revs outscore the Bees 28-7. New Britain concludes their 2019 First Half Regular Season road schedule with an overall record of 17-20, while closing out the month of June at 13-17.
New Britain starting pitcher Jed Bradley (3-2) was tagged with the loss after surrendering nine runs (seven earned runs) on 13 hits (one home run) in four innings on the mound, walking four and striking out seven. York starting pitcher Mitch Atkins (4-4) picked up the win, allowing just one run on five hits in six innings of work, walking one while striking out five.
York immediately went to work versus Bradley in the bottom half of the first inning, plating three runs for a quick 3-0 lead, highlighted by an RBI single off the bat of Telvin Nash and a two-run double produced by Welington Dotel four batters later. The Revolution went ahead 5-0 in the home half of the third frame when Justin Trapp plated a pair with a two-out base knock to left centerfield. New Britain got to within 5-1 in the top of the fourth thanks to an RBI base hit to centerfield with one away from Jonathan Galvez (season-best nine-game hitting streak) that allowed Bijan Rademacher to cross the plate after he led off the inning with a single of his own as Rademacher (.316, 5 home runs) and Galvez (.315, 6 home runs, 21 RBI) finish off June in very impressive fashion. The Revolution offensive surge continued as the ballgame moved along, with the home team recording the final ten runs of the contest to give the matchup its final score of 15-1.
