Two Hits For Rademacher, Including A Home Run
(York, PA – June 28, 2019) – The York Revolution (28-34) triumphed over the New Britain Bees (32-28) 9-5 at PEOPLEsBank Park on Friday night in the opener of a three-game weekend series in the Keystone State.
New Britain starting pitcher Devin Burke (1-3) was tagged with the loss after surrendering five runs on 11 hits (one home run) in four innings pitched, walking two and striking out seven. York starting pitcher Duke von Schamann (2-2) was credited with the win, allowing three runs (two earned runs) on seven hits in six innings on the bump, striking out four.
New Britain took a 2-0 lead against von Schamann just four batters into the ballgame when Jason Rogers plated Darren Ford and Alejandro De Aza with a two-run base knock after Ford gave the keynote in the contest with single of his own while De Aza doubled to left centerfield two batters later to extend his hitting streak to 14 consecutive games overall, the longest active hit streak on the ballclub. York answered right back in the home half of the frame courtesy of Telvin Nash as he launched a game-tying two run home run over the Arch Nemesis in left off Burke, his Atlantic League leading 19th big fly of the season. The Bees got to within 5-3 in the top of the fourth by way of an RBI groundout off the bat of Logan Moore that allowed Jonathan Galvez to cross the plate after the New Britain infielder reached base to lead off the frame on a throwing error committed by York third baseman Carlos Franco. The visitors scored a pair of runs in the top of the seventh to give the game is final score of 9-5 when Bijan Rademacher belted a two-run tater to the opposite-field in left, his sixth roundtripper of the campaign and fifth in the month of June. The early 5-2 deficit after just three innings of play was just too much for the boys from the Hardware City as the Revolution snapped a four-game losing streak against New Britain while improving to 3-1 versus the Bees in front of the York faithful in 2019.
