Plenty of ex-Bees were in action this past weekend with the 2026 college baseball season kicking off on Friday. Here are some of the many highlights from around the country:
Perez Brothers Headline La Salle Sweep
Daniel Perez (2024 Bee) and Ryan Perez (2024 & 2025 Bee) teamed up on the same college team for the first time this season at La Salle. In the Explorers’ first games since 2021 after the program was cut due to the pandemic, the Perez bros helped lead the team to a sweep over UMES. Daniel hit a team best .545 with a home run in the opener, while Ryan hit the mercy-deciding homer in the second game

Engle Shines Against Some Of The Nation’s Best
Harrison Engle (2025 Bee) was one of multiple incoming freshmen on last year’s New Britain squad that had high expectations right out of the gates their first year in college. For Engle, he was tasked with facing the No. 6 ranked Coastal Carolina Chanticleers. In his debut on Friday, he struck out the side in a scoreless frame. He also struck out the lone batter he faced the next day too to escape a jam, finishing off a successful and impressive first weekend.
Evasco Propels Kansas State To 3-0 Start in Arizona
AJ Evasco (2024 Bee) enjoyed a great weekend at the plate in the MLB Desert Invitational in Scottsdale. The 2025 Big 12 All-Freshman Team member had seven hits in three games with a triple and two doubles while driving in seven runs. Fellow Wildcat teammate and former Bee Donte Lewis (2024 Bee) started a game on the mound against UConn on Saturday and had a pinch-hit RBI on Sunday against Penn State.
