Series: This series will be the final time that York and New Britain will face off against each other in the regular season. New Britain has taken victories in the first 2 games of the series, with a 4-3 win on Thursday night and a 7-2 win last night. Game 3 will be tonight at 6:30, and the series will conclude tomorrow afternoon at 1:00 P.M.

The Bees: The scoring started early for the Bees in last night’s game, and from there they never looked back. James Skelton sent the second pitch he saw over the wall to give New Britain the early 1-0 lead, and the Bees would add 2 more runs thanks to RBI hits from Jovan Rosa and Jon Griffin. Michael Crouse would hit a 2 RBI double in the 2nd, and then more insurance would be added off the bat of Craig Maddox in both the 7th and 9th innings with an RBI single and double, respectively. All of this led to Greg Nappo earning his second straight win, both of which occurring against the Revolution.
The Opposition: York’s 2 runs all came in the bottom of the 1st inning, and from there the Bees shut their offense out. The 2 runs came home courtesy of the bat of Telvin Nash, who hit a 2 run home run to bring home himself and Isaias Tejeda. Both runs of the home run would be unearned after Jon Griffin committed an error that would have been the third out of the frame. Of the 4 total pitchers to be used in last night’s contest for York, the only one that did not allow a run was Joe Van Meter, who gave up only 1 hit in his 1 inning of relief.

Key to the Game – Jumpy Janas: Today, the Bees will be facing York starting pitcher Steve Janas, who is the only pitcher on York’s staff besides Jacob Ezell to have more walks than he has strikeouts (46/44), is the team leader in wild pitches (8), and second on the team in most batters hit by a pitch (7). Opponents also have a .301 batting average against him whenever he pitches at home compared to .261 when he pitches on the road. Look for the Bees to be alert when Janas is making his deliveries, making sure to be patient at the plate and waiting for the proper pitches to swing at.
