PROMOTIONS: Today is the New Britain Bees Summer Block Party! Beginning at 4:00 P.M. in the New Britain Stadium parking lot, it will feature food trucks, music, lawn games, and much more! Gates will open for the game at 5:35 P.M., and after the game: FIREWORKS!

The Bees: Yusuke Kajimoto was the main story for the Bees at the plate in last night’s game, having collected 2 hits, one of them being a triple. The only run that the Bees scored came when James Skelton scored on a wild pitch in the bottom of the 5th inning. On the mound, Nate Roe and Shawn Gilblair each tossed a scoreless inning of relief, allowing only 2 hits combined.

The Opposition: The Revolution scored at least one run in every inning except the 3rd, 8th and 9th. Isaias Tejeda and Telvin Nash each hit home runs for York, both of them being solo shots. Starting pitcher Stephen Janas threw 5 strong innings, allowing only 1 run off of 5 hits, however he did not strike anybody out. Luke Westphal, Michael Click and Joe Van Meter combined to throw 4 scoreless relief innings, allowing 2 hits combined.

Starting Pitchers – New Britain: RHP Jonathan Pettibone (1-4, 4.05) | York: LHP Logan Williamson (4-6, 4.54)

Key to the Game – Earn the unearned runs: Since the home stand began 5 games ago, New Britain has committed 6 fielding errors, resulting in 8 of the 33 runs scored by Bees opponents being unearned. The unearned runs have played a key factor in determining the outcome to some of the games of this home stand, particularly the 2-1 loss to Lancaster in which the game winning run was unearned. Look for the Bees defense to be polished in tonight’s game and for the Bees pitching staff to have strong command with their deliveries on the mound, making the job for York’s offense tougher.

Broadcast: The Bees’ Official YouTube Channel (youtube.com/newbritainbees) and Facebook Live (facebook.com/newbritainbees), starting at 6:20 P.M.

Song of the Day: Stacy Lattisaw & Johnny Gill - Block Party
