PROMOTIONS: Every Saturday game at New Britain Stadium is a FIREWORKS night! Fans in attendance can enjoy a spectacular fireworks show in between games one and two of tonight’s doubleheader!

The Bees: The New Britain offense put together 2 solo home runs in their last game, and that would be all that they needed. Jovan Rosa hit his home run in the top of the 3rd to give New Britain a 1-0 lead, and after Lancaster tied the game, Conor Bierfeldt would give the Bees a 2-1 lead in the top of the 8th inning with his solo shot. Mike Lee tossed 7 strong innings only allowing 1 run. Out of the bullpen, Brandon Fry had another scoreless outing. He hasn’t allowed a run in 8 of his last 9 appearances.

The Opposition: Bridgeport is currently in 2nd place in the Liberty division, 2.5 games behind Somerset, who have already clinched the division title for the first half. The Bluefish have won 4 of their last 5 games, which includes a recent series victory at home against York. D’Arby Myers and Jose Gil are both batting above .400 in their last 5 games, however the Bluefish have only combined to hit 1 home run in their last 5 contests.

Starting Pitchers –

Game 1: New Britain: LHP Nick Greenwood (0-0, 2.45) | Bridgeport: RHP Kevin Jefferis (0-0, 0.00)
Game 2: New Britain: RHP Brian Dupra (3-5, 4.65) | Bridgeport: RHP Rainy Lara (6-3, 2.53)

Key to the Game – Familiar stomping ground: Tonight’s game is the first time that Nick Greenwood will take the hill for New Britain since May 3rd, 2016. He made 3 starts in the 2016 season, all 3 of them were at home, and all 3 of them were wins. The Connecticut native will be pitching in his own backyard, a place that will always be familiar to him. Look for the Bees to feed off of Greenwood’s past successes while pitching in New Britain, backing him up with clean defense and generating offensive opportunities so he can pitch with a lead.

Broadcast: The Bees’ Official YouTube Channel (youtube.com/newbritainbees) and Facebook Live (facebook.com/newbritainbees), starting at 6:20 P.M.

Song of the Day: Ozzy Osbourne - Mama I'm Coming Home
