The Bees: New Britain had their second multi-home run performance by a single player of the season last night with Jake McGuiggan hitting a home run in back to back at bats. He joins the company of Conor Bierfeldt, who accomplished a multi-home run game on opening night against York. With yesterday’s loss, the Bees have not yet won a game on a weekday. They are 4-0 on weekend games.

The Opposition: Josh Prince led the comeback charge for Sugar Land with 2 home runs in the game, driving in 3 total runs on the night. The combined efforts of Trey Haley and Felipe Paulino out of the bullpen limited the Bees offense to just 1 hit through the final 3 innings of the game. Paulino would eventually get the win as Sugar Land scored 4 runs in the 8th inning to take the lead, when he was the pitcher of record.

Starters- New Britain: Eric Fornataro (0-1, 9.00) | Sugar Land: Jake Hale (2-0, 2.12)

Key to the Game- Skeeter repellant: The Sugar Land offense established itself as a force to be reckoned with in yesterday’s game, led by Josh Prince’s 2 home runs and multi-hit performances by 3 different players. New Britain used 3 different pitchers, and each one was charged with at least 2 earned runs. Look for Fornataro and the Bees pitching staff to create a plan that will limit the Skeeter offense, keeping them off the bases and keeping the runs off the board.

Broadcast: The Bees’ Official YouTube Channel (youtube.com/NewBritainBees) and Facebook Live (facebook.com/newbritainbees), starting at 6:50 P.M.

Song of the Day: Dire Straits - The Bug

Bees Buzz: Jake McGuiggan hit his first and second home runs of the season last night, a solo shot in the 3rd inning and a 2 run blast in the 4th inning. New Britain has now had multi-home run performances in a game by a single player two different times this season…Jovan Rosa extended his consecutive games played for the Bees streak to 154 yesterday…There were 5 total home runs in yesterday’s game, the most combined home runs by the Bees and their opponent in a game so far this season…Josh Prince hit 2 home runs against Bees pitching yesterday, the first time New Britain allowed a single player to have a multi-home run game since July 29th of last season against Southern Maryland.
