BEES CLOSE OUT 2016 SEASON VS. PATRIOTS

In 140 Characters or Less: The Bees take on the Patriots in the final game of the 2016 season! First pitch 1:35PM!

Series: The Bees have taken two out of the first three games of this four-game series with the Patriots, including winning last night 4-3. In the season series vs. Somerset, New Britain holds a 12-7 edge.

Promotions: Today is Hardware City Family Fun Day! Prior to the game, fans will be invited onto the field for an autograph session with the Bees. After the game, kids (and kids at heart) can take the field and Run the Bases! It is also Fan Appreciation Day as well as our sixth and final 2016 Collector's Pin Giveaway which will be given to the first 1,000 fans through the gates! 

The Bees: Three Bees are in the midst of strong finishes as the season comes to a close, with Greg Golson (.365), Craig Maddox (.322), and Jon Griffin (.306) all batting over .300 in the month of September. The trio have combined to hit five home runs, drive in 21 and score 22 runs.

The Opposition: David Vidal, a former eighth-round pick of the Cincinnati Reds, is batting .333 (6-18) with two home runs, three RBIs, and four runs scored over his last five games. He is also second in the league in home runs this season with 26.

Key to the Game: Finish Strong— The Bees will look to finish strong as the 2016 season comes to a close. The Bees will rely on right-hander Dylan Thompson to help the team walk away with a win to end the season. In his very first start with the Bees, Thompson shut out the Patriots for five inning and allowed just two hits on the road.
