BEES LOOK TO SECURE IMPORTANT SERIES WIN VS. PATRIOTS

Series: The Bees knotted the three-game series at a game apiece last night with a 4-1 win in the middle game of the series. The two teams play one more regular season series against each other this season from September 15-18 at New Britain Stadium.

The Bees: Greg Golson has been one of the Bees’ main catalysts during the team’s 4-1 start to this nine-game road trip. The veteran outfielder is hitting .417 (10-24) with a triple, home run, and five RBIs over the first five games of the trip. He also has scored a run in each of the last three games.

The Opposition: During his six-game hitting streak, New Jersey native Vinny Zarrillo is hitting .360 (9-25) with a home run, four RBIs, and four runs scored.

New Britain- RHP Nate Roe (5-1, 5.04) | Somerset- RHP Will Oliver (5-2, 3.79)

Key to the Game: Twist Oliver— The Bees’ offense will look to continue its success off of Patriots’ starter Will Oliver. In two starts against New Britain this season, the right-hander is 0-1 with a 4.91 ERA (six earned runs in 11 innings) while allowing the the Bees to hit a healthy .286 against him. A series win will be in sight if the Bees are able to duplicate their success against Oliver this afternoon.
