BEES GO FOR SERIES SWEEP OF SKEETERS

In 140 Characters or Less: The Bees go for the sweep of the series against the Skeeters! First pitch 1:35PM!

Series: This afternoon’s game will be the final home game against the Skeeters in 2016. The two teams play one more series in Sugar Land at the end of August.

Promotions: Today is Hardware City Family Fun-Day! New Britain Stadium is the place to bring the whole family on Sundays! Prior to the game, fans will be invited onto the field for an autograph session with the Bees. After the game, kids (and kids at heart) can take the field and run the bases!

The Bees: Jovan Rosa is hitting .304 (14-46) with five extra-base hits, five RBIs, and six runs scored in 12 games so far in the month of August.

The Opposition: In six games against the Bees split between Lancaster and Sugar Land, Lance Zawadzki has been a nightmare for Bees’ pitchers. The 31-year-old is hitting .320 (8-25) with three home runs, nine RBIs and five runs scored this season against New Britain.

Key to the Game: Mr. Consistency- In six of his seven starts since joining the starting rotation on July 1, Jarret Leverett has tossed at least six innings (including pitching seven innings in three of those starts). The Bees will look to Leverett to pitch deep into the game yet again in an effort to sweep their first series since July 1-3 against Southern Maryland.
