BEES GO FOR SECOND STRAIGHT WIN OVER SKEETERS

Series: The Bees extended their lead in the season series against the Skeeters to 8-6 with a 3-2 walk-off win last night. Following tonight’s game, the series finale will take place tomorrow afternoon at 1:35PM.

The Bees: Jon Griffin is in the midst of a seven-game hitting streak against Sugar Land. During the streak, the Bees’ first baseman is hitting .393 (11-28) with two doubles, a triple, a home run and five runs scored.

The Opposition: Outfielder Jeremy Barfield continued his hot hitting against the Bees this season with a strong night last night. Barfield went 2-3 with a walk and run scored, and is now hitting .341 (15-44) with six extra-base hits and seven runs scored in 12 game against the Bees.

Key to the Game: Upper Hand- Bees pitchers seem to find much success against the bats of the Skeeters. In 14 games, the Bees have held the Skeeters to a .232 batting average while posting a 2.72 ERA, the best by the Bees against any team this season. New Britain will look to Mike Lee to try to continue the superb pitching against Sugar Land.
