BEES, DUPRA LOOK TO EVEN SERIES WITH REVOLUTION

In 140 Characters or Less: The Bees look to rebound tonight and even the series with the Revolution! First pitch 6:30PM!

Series: York took the first game of the series last night 6-1 behind strong pitching and two big innings offensively. After the completion of tonight’s game, the finale of the series will take place Sunday afternoon at 1PM.

The Bees: Michael Crouse enters this evening’s game working on a six-game hitting streak. During the streak, the native of Canada is hitting .348 (8-23) with two doubles, three RBIs and three runs scored. It is his fifth hitting streak this season of five games or longer.

The Opposition: In his first game against his old team, former Bee Kevin Rivers torched Bees’ pitching last night. The Bristol native went 3-4 with a pair of doubles and a run scored, and since the June 23 that sent him to York, Rivers is hitting .281 (18-64) with ten RBIs, seven doubles and six runs scored.

Starters
New Britain- RHP Brian Dupra (4-1, 3.67) | York- RHP Frank Gailey (2-2, 3.24)

Key to the Game: Stalking his Dupra- Just like James Simmons of the Revolution seems to have the number of the Bees’ offense, Brian Dupra appears to know how to handcuff the Revolutions’ hitters. In 10.1 innings against York (one start, one relief outing), Dupra has allowed just one earned run and has struck out six. Look for the right-hander to continue this trend as he seeks his first win since May 26.

Bees Buzz: Anthony Hewitt has picked up a hit in each of the five starts he has gotten in the month of July (.412 batting average with eight RBIs and three runs scored in those five starts)…The Bees have stolen 16 bases in 20 attempts so far this month, good for a success rate of 80%…Craig Maddox has picked up at least one hit in seven of the eight games he has played against York this season…
